Fisher and Paykel is a well known household name throughout New Zealand, but today they only produce laundry, refrigeration, kitchen appliances and health products.
In the 1970s a range of audio products were released under the F & P brand and manufactured by Allied Industries under license to Rank/Bush/Murphy (England) and AWA.
The majority of these were radio-grams and turntable/amplifier consoles with a range of speakers to suit and they were aimed at the more affordable end of the market.
Almost every home had a Fisher and Paykel product of some kind during this period.
There still seems to be quite a few units around today, and that's likely due to the fact they were made in large numbers.
