AWA aka (Amalgamated Wireless of Australia) were at the mid to higher end of the scale when it came to the products they made in conjunction with some of the equipment that came from Australia. In later years during the 1980's AWA in NZ merged with Hitachi and a number of components were made here under license to Hitachi in Japan.
