The Linear brand was manufactured and distributed by David Reid Electronics and other audio retail stores during the late 1970's to mid 1980's. The cosmetics resembled Pioneer and Sansui from the same era. Linear had some reasonable models but the build quality wasn't quite up to scratch despite the outward appearance which gave the impression of a high end amplifier. But they did exist and some models still survive and are working to this day, so that is something to take into consideration.
